Alyson Musco, APRN, FNP-BC/FNP-C

By the age of four I knew I wanted to follow in my mother’s footsteps and become a nurse. I frequently transformed my parents’ living room into a full-service clinic for my Cabbage Patch Dolls! As a teenager, my love for nursing grew exponentially as I spent many afternoons at the hospital with my dad who was chronically ill. I was inspired by the time and effort his nurses invested in providing family-centered care for my family.

I have worked in pediatrics for much of my 20+ years in nursing. I spent the formative years of my career in the Pediatric Burn ICU at Shriners Burn Hospital (Boston). Since leaving the Boston area, I have worked as a Nurse Donation Coordinator for the New England Organ Bank, as a staff nurse in the Pediatric ICU at Yale New Haven Hospital, and most recently as a Pediatric Nurse Case Manager also at Yale. As my own children grew and headed into their high school years, I felt that it was the right time to pursue my advanced degree. During my APRN training, I had the pleasure of completing my pediatric clinical rotations right here at Willows!

I genuinely enjoy the unique and diverse nature of caring for pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood. My focus is on family-centered care, and I strive to meet each patient/family where they are. I take great pride in collaborating with my patients and their families to ensure the highest quality of care.

Interests

I live in Norwalk with my husband, two teenage daughters, and our three rescue dogs (Tessie, Eleanor, & Kevin)! I love to travel and listen to live music. I am originally from Massachusetts and although I disguise my Boston accent very well, I cannot hide my love of Brighams Ice Cream, Boston sports, and spending summer weekends on the Cape with friends and family.
