As children and adolescents grow and develop, they often experience a myriad of social, emotional, and mood-related challenges. We can help our patients and their families meet these challenges by offering therapy for a range of problems including anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. We can also help if a pre-teens or teens need counseling and support to help them thrive as they navigate any challenges and stresses. We have two specialists on our team at Willows who can work with your child, preteen, or adolescent – please meet them below. To make an appointment to see Charlotte or Susie, please speak your doctor or PA. All billing is done through your insurance similar to other office visits your child has at Willows. We are also anticipate offering support groups in the near future.
Susie Basler, MA, LMSW
Susie Basler, MA, LMSW has been in providing in office treatment of psychological and behavioral problems at Willows since 2019. Susie has over 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings, including as Director of Project Return in Westport and in an established private practice in Westport.
Susie received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, before receiving a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.
She is experienced in the areas of anxiety reduction, adolescent psychology, and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). She has vast experience understanding the needs of teenagers, and a unique set of skills and knowledge of what works best when counseling adolescents and their parents. Susie is also passionate about working with and supporting pre-teens, and helping them thrive as they navigate any challenges and stresses.

Charlotte Berger, LPC, LMHC
We are pleased to announce that Charlotte Berger, LPC, LMHC has joined us in providing office treatment of psychological problems. Charlotte specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and anxiety and depression in adolescents and young adults. Charlotte brings a wealth of experience from a private practice in Fairfield County, and as a primary therapist at an esteemed residential treatment facility in Westchester, NY where she provided intensive therapy for the treatment of eating disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, and depression for adolescents. Charlotte has extensive training in CBT, DBT, and ACT and uses a wide range of therapeutic approaches including traditional talk therapy and art therapy. If necessary, Charlotte will work with your doctor or PA at Willows for an evaluation if medication is needed.
Charlotte is currently a doctoral candidate at Pace University, where she is pursuing a PhD in Mental Health Counseling. Charlotte received her BA from CUNY Baruch College and her MA in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY John Jay College.
