Willows Pediatric Flu Administration Schedule (2018)*

Please note: This year, the FluMist, a nasal flu vaccine, has been approved by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).  However, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has determined the injectable flu vaccine is more consistently effective against most strains of the influenza virus than the FluMist. Therefore, the AAP recommends all children who are eligible for the flu vaccine receive injectable flu vaccine.

We will have the Flumist available if you would like to choose this option, but the providers at Willows Pediatrics feel the best option for your child is the injectable flu vaccine.  If you have any questions, please ask!

Fill out one of the administration  sheets and above and bring one  for each child when you come for  your flu vaccine.  (Please remember, if someone other than a parent/guardian is bringing a child in, a written note giving permission to give the injectable vaccine/mist signed by a parent will be required.

Also, please note ANY child with an egg allergy must make an appointment to receive the injectable vaccine/mist at a regularly scheduled appointment.
