Please note only the injectable Flu vaccine (Flu shot) is available this year. Children six months of age or older can receive the Flu shot. The CDC and ACIP did not recommend the FluMist (Nasal Flu vaccine) this year because they determined the FluMist was not as effective as it should be in preventing influenza virus infections in children. Thus, the only option this year for Flu protection is the injectable Flu shot.
You may download the 2016 WILLOWS INJECTABLE FLU SHOT ADMINISTRATION SHEET. Fill out the sheet and BRING IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU COME FOR YOUR FLU SHOT. (Please remember if someone other than a parent/guardian is bringing a child in for the flu vaccine, a written note giving permission to give the vaccine signed by a parent will be required to allow for administration.)
Children under nine years of age who have never had a Flu vaccine need an initial Flu shot followed by a second Flu shot, a booster dose, in one month.
