CPR and First Aid for Families and Friends
This course is designed for adults and young adults who want to learn CPR and first aid. The course is taught by Carolyn Lynch, RN, who is certified by the American Heart Association in CPR instruction. In this course, adults, including parents, grandparents, adult babysitters and nannies, learn and practice CPR for infants, children, and adults. Participants also learn how to help an infant, child or adult who is choking and are given information on essential first aid skills.
This course does not offer certification as it does not have a skills test or written exam. However, the course is valid for two years. A textbook is provided at the time of the class.
The course lasts two and a half hours, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, and is offered every three to four weeks. We can only offer the course to families and friends of our patients, or in the case of expectant parents, those who will be bringing their newborns to our group. Please call Nil at extension 1231 to register or ask any questions. The cost of the course is $50.00 per person.
